Each instrument has its own phrase length, so kick, hi-hat and percussion can loop against each other. You can edit anything by hand in the note editor.<\/li><li><strong>Blocks and a timeline.<\/strong>\u00a0Build main, break and fill blocks and put them in order on the timeline. Every clip shows a small preview of its notes.<\/li><li><strong>Two sound engines.<\/strong><ul><li><em>808<\/em>: based on the TR-808 circuits as built in the Yocto V2.0, simulated in NGSpice and ported to C++. All instruments run in real time except the hi-hat, ride and cymbals. I couldn&#8217;t get those fast enough, so they are rendered ahead of time and played from a cache.<\/li><li><em>Lo-Fi<\/em>: a simpler, rougher alternative.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>A mixer.<\/strong>\u00a0One channel per instrument with fader, pan, mute and solo, EQ and limiter slots, reverb and delay sends, and a master limiter. Mixer presets included.<\/li><li><strong>MIDI export.<\/strong>\u00a0Save the whole song or single blocks as\u00a0<code>.mid<\/code>, or drag clips straight from the timeline into your DAW.<\/li><li><strong>Everything is saved in your project.<\/strong>\u00a0Patterns, song, engine settings and mixer come back when you reopen it.<\/li><\/ul><h3>\ud83d\udce5Installation<\/h3><ol><li>Copy\u00a0<code>DrumGroover.vst3<\/code>\u00a0to\u00a0<code>C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\VST3\\<\/code><\/li><li>Rescan plugins in your DAW.<\/li><\/ol><p>DrumGroover is built and tested for\u00a0<strong>Windows 11 in FL Studio<\/strong>. Its interface needs the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which Windows 11 includes.<\/p><p>Windows 10 is not supported, but may work if the runtime is installed. If it is missing, the plugin tells you and offers the download page (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-edge\/webview2\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">WebView2 Runtime<\/a><\/span>, &#8220;Evergreen Bootstrapper&#8221;).<\/p><p>The first start renders the hi-hat, ride and cymbal sounds once into the cache (<code>%APPDATA%\\DrumGroover\\Cache<\/code>). That takes a few seconds. The cache size can be set in the Drum Engine tab.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"19\" data-end=\"397\">\u00a0\u2728Good to know<\/h3><ul><li>Windows 11, 64 bit, VST3 only for now. There are no macOS or Linux builds yet.<\/li><li>Tested with the DAW the author uses. Then it became a VST plugin since i became quickly tired of exporting and importing midi files.
